Operating in an environmentally responsible and sustainable way is important to us at Galedin. In 2022 we set out to ensure we are doing all we can as a business to reduce our environmental impact.

As part of this process we became members of the Investors in The Environment scheme https://www.iie.uk.com/ and in 2023 achieved their Bronze award. Since then, we have gone on to achieve Silver accreditation and then Green, their highest award in 2025. We continue to be accredited at this level. As part of the VetPartners group our goal is to achieve net zero by 2045.

We constantly audit and review all aspects of our operations from sustainable procurement, to environmentally friendly travel and waste reduction and in 2024 were delighted to win the ‘Best Waste Reduction’ category at the national Investors in The Environment awards. These awards included nominees from businesses and organisations from a variety of sectors not only veterinary.

All our practices offer empty medication blister pack recycling and we are happy to arrange safe disposal of any unwanted or unused medications.

In 2024 we launched our tree planting initiative. For every pet who joins our Pet Health Plan, Galedin now plants a tree to help improve biodiversity internationally.

As of July 2026, we have planted 2032 trees which will go on to absorb 221.5 tonnes of CO2 in their lifetime and reforest 13553m2 of land. Our total continues to climb.
