Part Time Receptionist – Kelso

Our Kelso team is expanding! We are looking for a part-time permanent Veterinary Receptionist to join our busy mixed-practice. Are you the right person to join our tight knit team?

At Galedin we pride ourselves on our client care, and in this role your strong interpersonal skills will be key to developing and maintaining our client relationships.

You will be required to undertake the below tasks as part of the role:

Welcoming and registering clients arriving at the surgery using a computerised system, including making appointments for large and small animals to maximise the use of veterinary time. Previous experience of working in a veterinary or agricultural environment will be beneficial, although it is not essential as training will be provided. What is essential, however, is your ability to demonstrate an excellent track record in the delivery of customer service to a very high standard.

To answer the phone in a kind and friendly manner, deal with telephone enquiries and redirect clinical queries to an appropriate member of staff. This includes taking card payments on a daily basis and accurately updating client’s records and accounts, whilst adhering to strict patient confidentiality and GDPR.

To identify and prioritise emergency cases and promote the image of Galedin through a high standard of care. The receptionist may also be required to assist with other administrative duties delegated by the departments within the team.

To assist with cleaning and infection control as needed in the reception area. The receptionist may also be required to become involved with ordering on a daily basis, as well as unpacking and usual stock rotation duties.

Multitasking and being able to stay calm under pressure in an extremely busy working environment is essential. Money handling skills and experience of handling a high level of incoming calls would be beneficial.

Hours of work are expected to be 14.5 hrs per week on a part-time basis. Days of work are likely to be Tuesday 9am – 2pm, Wednesday 1pm – 5.30pm and Friday 1pm – 6pm, however, a flexible approach is desirable to provide cover for any planned holidays or unplanned absence.
The role fulfils a Saturday morning rota from 08:30 – 12.00 on a rotational basis.

Receptionist

We currently have an opportunity for a permanent, part-time Receptionist to join our experienced team of Receptionists at Duns. This comes at an exciting time for the team as we prepare to move into our brand new surgery at Putton Mill.

Small Animal Vet – FTC Maternity Cover

We have an exciting opportunity for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, supportive team at one of our large, well-equipped modern surgeries in the Scottish Borders. The Scottish Borders is renowned for its beautiful scenery, wonderful walks and mountain biking trails. We are also only 1 hour from Edinburgh with the Borders Railway on your doorstep.

Who we need: We need an enthusiastic small animal vet to join us for 12 months while one of our fabulous vets has her new baby! The position would suit an experienced small animal vet or a confident recent graduate.

What we can offer you:

· Varied 1st opinion caseload. We have vets with interests in orthopaedics, exotics, internal medicine and behaviour. We also offer lap spays and acupuncture/physiotherapy.

· 15 minute appointments for routine things, 30 minutes for euthanasia’s/ blood sampling etc.

· Opportunities to consult and operate equally shared between the team.

· Working day usually 8.30am – 6pm (8am start on operating day), and we nearly always get away for lunch and finish on time! Our last consulting appointment is 5.30pm.

· Support of an experienced and friendly team of vets, most of us have been with the practice for 4 years +.

· Really strong team ethos with an active social committee, we organise everything from cinema outings to zip-lining to stand-up paddle boarding!

· 1:3 Saturday mornings 8am – 12pm.

· OOH provider in house at our Gala branch. This gives us good case continuity, and we have an excellent working relationship with our OOH team. There are occasionally opportunities to cover shifts for the OOH team if you would like to.

· Full-time hours are 4.5 days a week which can be taken as a half day per week or a full day every fortnight.

· 30 days holiday per year (pro rata for PT)

· We have a salary scale in place for Veterinary Surgeons up to £60K
· We are happy to help you find accommodation if you are relocating.
