Small Animal Vet Vacancy
We are looking for a permanent full time small animal vet to join our fun and friendly team at our Berwick branch. We are in North Northumberland, next to the coast (you can see the sea from the practice!) and the beautiful Scottish Borders, with the added bonus of being within an hour drive from Edinburgh/Newcastle.
The branch is part of the wider Galedin team (Galedinvet.com) within the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland. We are part of the VetPartners Group family.
We are a very friendly social team and try to get out as often as possible. In the summer staff from our Berwick branch will often go wild swimming after work and we try to do a bit of fun team building – from rowing on the Tweed to outdoor watersport adventures at Fox Lake to pottery and yoga classes!
Our small animal work includes surgery and consults with access to all the mod cons including endoscopes, dental x-ray, good quality ultrasound and EPOC bloods etc. We aim to provide an excellent first opinion service with clinical freedom to follow cases up and a large team of small animal vets for support and case discussion.
Our full-time working week is 40 hours over 4.5 days with an hour lunch break. We are proud to provide our own OOH care, with staff receiving time in lieu after oncall shifts. The Saturday mornings and OOH shifts are on a rota.

Farm Vet, Kelso, Scottish Borders
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced farm vet to join us in Kelso, in the Scottish Borders.
The role would suit a confident vet who enjoys working as part of an experienced and enthusiastic team providing excellent clinical care and who is keen to develop their skills.
Galedin is a mixed practice with an established beef, sheep and dairy client base alongside small animal and equine services. The role will mainly involve working with our progressive suckler farms where we offer routine services from pelvimetry, AI and bull testing through to pregnancy scanning and blood sampling in addition to any emergency work. There is the opportunity to work with our pedigree beef and sheep flocks and confidence with herd and flock health planning is essential. The role includes an equally shared, farm-only out-of-hours rota.
The practice has a number of certificate holders and colleagues enrolled in certificate programmes and excellent support is available from experienced colleagues.
Galedin is a rural practice but with excellent links to both Edinburgh and Newcastle. The team enjoy regular practice dog walks and social evenings. The Borders offers an excellent base for outdoor pursuits and our team are members of local hockey and rugby teams, triathlon clubs and support various youth clubs and other organisations. There is also a great local agricultural show circuit and active Young Farmers and Agricultural Discussion groups.
We have all the essentials including phase contrast microscopy, Pulsator-V and both linear and curvilinear ultrasound scanners.
Salary upto £65,000 FTE depending on experience plus vehicle available for private use.
